Paul W. “Andy” Anderson, 75, of Spencer, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2020 at the I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. Andy was born in Sullivan, Indiana on March 15, 1945 to Ray Eugene Anderson and Mazie Marie (Webb) Anderson. He was a graduate of North Central High School in Farmersburg, Indiana. Andy served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He received his Bachelor Degree in Criminology from Indiana University. Andy retired from the F.B.I. after 32 years and then from Area 10(Meals On Wheels) in Spencer after 17 years. Andy was known for his gift of writing and never forgetting to send a card or handwritten note to the people he loved. Paul was an outdoorsman. He loved to hunt deer and catch large-mouth bass with his best friends. Although catching bluegill from his own pond with his grand kids was a treasure too.
Andy is survived by his wife, May (Skelton) Anderson, whom he married on August 2, 1970, daughters, Kelly and husband Bryan McCalip of North Salem, Amy and husband Mike Young of Plainfield, grandchildren, Ely, Rylynn, Anna, Daniel, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, son, Paul W. Anderson, Jr., two brothers, Bob Anderson and Donald Anderson, and one grandson, David Young.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 8, 2020 at the West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, 105 North Montgomery Street, Spencer. Pastor Ray Anderson will officiate. Burial at Little Flock Cemetery in Shelburn will take place at a later date.
A receiving of friends will be 12:00 PM until the time of service on Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and T.B.I. (Traumatic Brain Injury) Association of America, through the funeral home.
