Deloris Sarris

Deloris E. Sarris, age 96, of Linton, passed away peacefully at her son’s residence at 11:16 P.M. Saturday, January 2, 2021.  She was born in Lyons on February 18, 1924, the daughter of Ernest & Irene (Russell) Dennis.  

She was self-employed, owning Sarris Record Shop, spanning from the late1940’s through the early 1980’s. She worked at the Leonard Jeffrey’s Bus Station in Linton  

Deloris was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Linton.  She loved Jesus, raising her kids, grandchildren, and being with her family.  She enjoyed being outdoors, hiking, and shopping.  She was always kind and generous  and was willing to take care of anyone who was at her doorstep.  

Deloris is survived by three sons, Mark Sarris of Linton, Tim Sarris of Linton, and Nick (Tracey) Sarris of Terre Haute, brother, Don (Joyce) Dennis of Linton, six sisters, Joyce Lively of Greencastle, Judy Trinkle of Columbia, Missouri, Marylin Allenbaugh of Linton, Patty (Sam) Neff of Linton, Kay (David) Landis of Linton, and Melba Gregory of Linton, grandchildren, Nick Sarris, C.J. Hoff, Brian Hoff, DeLora Rippy, T.J. Sarris, Jacinda Sarris, Nicholas Sarris, Grace Willis, Samuel Sarris, and Alia Sarris, and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Nick Sarris on May 29, 1986, son, Chris Sarris, two brothers, Gene and Ron Dennis, a toddler brother, Bobby Dennis, and an infant sister, Betty Dennis.

Funeral service will be held Bethel Baptist Church in Vicksburg at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 7, 2021.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.  The service will be webcast at the bottom of the obituary on the funeral home website.

Visitation will be held at the Bethel Baptist Church in  Vicksburg on Thursday from 10 A.M. until the time of service.

Due to state regulation, 25 people or less will be allowed in the funeral home at one time, and facemask must be worn.
