Clovis Gentry, Jr.

Clovis Kenneth Gentry, Jr., 79, of Spencer passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital. He was born in Spencer, Indiana on January 26, 1942 to Clovis and Opal (White) Gentry.

 

Clovis graduated from Spencer High School in 1960. He served in the United States Army from 1961-1964 being stationed in Greenland and Mojave Desert. Clovis married Patricia Bault on July 10, 1971 and had two daughters. He retired from Westinghouse/ABB in 1999 and was a longtime member of the McCorrmick’s Creek Pentecostal Church. Clovis loved spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren playing sports. He also enjoyed being outdoors fishing and hunting.

 

Clovis is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Patricia Gentry; two daughters, Kara (Daniel) Gunderman and Aimee (Sam) Baker; two grandchildren, Zachary (Clairissa) Gunderman and Kennedy (Jacob) Gilreath; two great grandchildren, Izzy Gilreath and Owen Gunderman; two nephews, Chris Barker and Eric Barker; one niece, LeeAnn Hallman; and several great nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Yvonne Barker and four grandchildren.

 

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at McCorrmick’s Creek Pentecostal Church with Pastor Rick Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Chambersville Cemetery in Spencer, IN with military rites presented by the Owen County Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-8 PM at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer and also on Wednesday at the church from 11:00 AM until the time of service..

Memorial contributions may be made to the McCorrmick’s Creek Pentecostal Church or Alzheimer’s Association.
