Diana Lynn Freeman, age 66, of Spencer, passed away peacefully at 3:40 pm on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, surrounded by her family at her son’s home in Ellettsville. She was born in Bloomington, on September 17, 1954, the daughter of Dorothy I. Patton.
Diana worked many retail jobs throughout the years, and enjoyed working at Hills Department Store in Bloomington. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, camping, fishing, and going to Disney and Florida.
She is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Oakes of Spencer and Angela Wyatt (Jeff) of Solsberry, and son, Russell “Rusty” Freeman (Terri) of Ellettsville, grandchildren, Christian Freeman, Devin Buchtman, Ryan Oakes, Christopher Wever, Ashley Wever, Kristi Buchtman, Haven Freeman, Bianca Wyatt, and Melanie Wyatt, one great-granddaughter, Lilly, brothers, Donnie Hollingsworth, Brian Patton, James Patton, and Timothy Patton, and sisters, Victoria Purtlebaugh and Susan Patton.
She was preceded in death by her mother, husband, Russell Freeman on Sept. 18, 2020, grandson, William Tyler Buchtman, and a sister, Julia McGlocklin.
Funeral service will be held at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. Burial will follow at Gross Cemetery in Spencer.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4 – 8 P.M, and from 12 noon until the time of service on Tuesday.
