The Roys, Live in Linton!

The Linton Community Development Corporation (LCDC), the non-profit manager and operator of the Linton Music Festival, is proud to announce an evening of great musical entertainment at the Linton- Stockton High School Auditeria on Saturday, June 4th, 2011.

The evening will feature headliner The Roys. A modern bluegrass duo based out of Nashville, The Roys have just released their brand-new CD, Lonesome Whistle, which recently landed at #7 on the Billboard Bluegrass Album Chart. The disc features their latest single, a tribute to the life of the miner, called, “Coal Minin’ Man” with its video now on the ballot for Great American County TV’s Top 20 Country Countdown.

Sister/Brother duo Elaine and Lee Roy carry on the strong New England bluegrass/roots music tradition. Fresh from their national TV debut on the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon (Las Vegas), the 2010 ICM Duo of the Year has just recorded their new album at Skaggs’ Place Studios with members of Kentucky Thunder. They have performed across the U.S. and Canada sharing the bill with The Oak Ridge Boys, George Jones, Collin Raye and Chris Young.

The show will also feature the band Sheila Stephen and the Rodeo Monkeys. Sheila, a native of Bloomington, Indiana and former Miss Indiana, is a nationally-recognized singer and songwriter. Her songwriting achievements include, “New Fool At An Old Game,” which became a #1 Hit for Reba McEntire, as well as a song titled, “Honky Tonk Leave Him Alone” recorded by Loretta Lynn. Her name may also be recognized as the host of the Midday Get-away, which includes the all-request lunch show The High Noon Saloon, on WHCC Hoosier Country 105.

Also performing during the music-filled evening will be Linton’s own Kade Puckett. Kade will be bringing to the stage his popular repertoire of finger-style acoustic originals.

There will be three ticket levels, priced at $20, $15, and $10, will be available online at LintonEvents.com or locally at Francis Jewel Box or Linton Sporting Goods. Ticket prices will be an additional $2 when purchased at the door.
