Wayne F. Jackson, 93, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Cobblestone Crossing in Terre Haute, Indiana.
He was born on May 18, 1927 in Pagetown, Sullivan County, Indiana the son of Ocie Jackson and La Vern Jerrells Jackson. Wayne retired from the US Navy as Chief Hull Technician. He was a former board member of the Sullivan County Park and Lake Board, former Sullivan County Council and founder of the Wayne Jackson Fisherman’s Club.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Doris Goldman Jackson who passed away in June 1987, one daughter, Marcie Schneider, sister, Geraldine Burch and brother-in-law, Jack Burch.
Survivors include his son, Mike Jackson of Linton, Indiana, daughter, Debi Jackson of Sullivan, Indiana, sister, Barbara Pahmier (Leon) of Daleville, Indiana, four grandchildren; Leslie, Mendi, Ryan and Kim, seven great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. He is also survived by special friends; Gary and Sherry Napier of Sullivan, Indiana and Dioji.
Funeral services will be at 1:00PM Monday, November 2, 2020 at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, Indiana with Pastor Doug Napier officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Bucktown, Indiana with a Military graveside service by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera Legion Posts and Sullivan county VFW Post. Visitation will be from 3:00PM until 6:00PM on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Newkirk’s Funeral Home.
