Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Snyder

Ronald Lee Snyder, 78, of Linton, Indiana, went to Heaven, on Monday, November 22, 2021 at his residence. He was born on September 19, 1943 in Dugger, Indiana to John ‘Jack’ Maurice Snyder and Doris Lucille (Bedwell) Snyder. After his father’s passing, he was raised from the age of 4 by his step-father, William ‘Bill’ McKinley Maxey. Ronnie married his loving wife, Karon Sue (Williams) Snyder on August 31, 1963.

Ronnie was a member of The Pentecost Church in Sullivan and the UMWA, Local #1423, District #12. He was a coal miner for Amax Coal Co. and Kindall Mine in Dugger, retiring in 2004 with 38 ½ years of service.

Family left to cherish the memory of Ronnie include: his wife, Karon Snyder; daughters, Rhonda (Cale) McDonald and Karen Lee Siner, both of Terre Haute; son, Brent (Jill) Snyder of Dugger; eleven grandchildren, Jerry Winter, Donovan Winter, Kenny Winter, Brittany Winter, Calen Cox, Amanda Winter, Samantha Sparks, Ryan Winter, Whitney Siner, Brenley Snyder and Islee Snyder; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Myra Sue Barkus of Sullivan and Brenda Pittman of Anderson; step-sisters, Edna Gaye Swan of Anderson and step-brother, Tom Maxey of Anderson.

Ronnie was preceded in death by: his parents; one son, Ronald L. Snyder, Jr.; sisters, Barbara Pierce and Kathleen Enochs; step-sister, Virginia Alderman; step-brothers, Bob, John, Paul, Fred, Bill and Jim Maxey.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Pastor Randy Easton and Pastor Jeffrey Harpo officiating. Ronnie will be laid to rest in Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, November 26 and from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to The Pentecost Church, 54 N. Beasley St., Sullivan, IN 47882. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
