Mary J. Wellington, age 93, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 4:00 am on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at her residence. She was born in Linton, IN on January 15, 1927, the daughter of Noble & Mary “Exie” (Lynn) Thomas.
She was a 1945 graduate of Linton High School. She worked at Walmart stocking shelves and other necessary duties that were asked of her. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #22 and enjoyed working puzzles.
Mary is survived by her son, Scott (Carolyn) Wellington of Linton; grandsons, Scott L (Racheal) Wellington of Linton and Brian (Sandy) Crichfield of Tennessee; granddaughter, Stacey Mason of Linton; great grandchildren, Thomas (Haily) Wellington, Savannah (Kyle Kaufman) Mason and Garrett Mason.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Darrell K. Wellington; son, Thomas Wellington; grandson, Brent Crichfield; sisters, Lottie Harris, Martha Gray, Monzell Rolling, Elouise Thomas and Ilene Thomas; brothers, Joe Thomas and Lawrence “Chappy” Thomas.
Private services will be observed by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.
