Mark Barton Burnham Jr., 74, of Spencer entered eternal life on October 9, 2020. He was born on March 8, 1946 to Mark B. Burnham Sr and Margret Edna (Crosby) Burnham Goodman. Mark married Cheryl Lynn Hendricks on September 2, 1968. He has one daughter Lori Lee (Burnham) Warner.
Mark was a kind, gentle, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved his daughter and lovingly called her “doll baby” to the day before he died. Mark loved his son-in-law, Norman Clinton Warner III and thought of him as a son. Mark’s three grandsons Bryan Cory Warner, Clinton Brandt Warner and Brandon Lee Warner were a beam of light and joy. Mark enjoyed sharing his many travels and experiences with the boys. He taught them that no matter how old a person gets they can always learn if willing to put in the hard work and that determination and stubbornness can go a long way in the world. He loved his great grandchildren Savanna Marie Warner, Colton Lee Warner and Henry Reineke Warner, and hearing them say ‘Grampy” was music to his ears. His loving response was always “hey brat” which really means hey how are you. You know I love you, right.
In his earlier years, Mark was a faithful friend to the Owen County Public Library and met many dear friends there. He loved to read and after his blindness prevented him from reading, he would often listen to books on tapes for enjoyment. Mark loved ham radios and scanners, and at one point was a weather watcher for the community.
Mark is survived by his daughter, Lori Warner and husband Norman; three grandchildren Bryan (Stephanie), Brandt (Katlin Ryan), and Brandon; and three great grandchildren.
He entered eternal life with his wife Cheryl and was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, infant daughter, sisters and a brother.
Mark was truly loved and will be missed by many.
