James R. Lueking, 79, of Bloomfield passed away Sunday August 9, 2020 at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Born October 23, 1940 in Knox County, Indiana the son of Paul H. and Alma Ruth (Linneweber) Lueking.
James was a retired Engineer at NSWC Crane where he was a holder of a US Patent. He was an elder in the Bloomfield Presbyterian Church, a member of the Lions Club, Midwest Antique Tool Association, Classic Cruisers Car Club, former president of the Shawnee Theater board and Bloomfield Jaycees.
Surviving relatives include his wife of 56 years Jane (Jackson) Lueking of Bloomfield, his four children, Melinda (Tim) Hendrix of Bloomfield, Jason (Cindy) Lueking of Carmel, Darren (Allison) Lueking of League City, Texas; Allison (Dan) Kight of Canton Michigan; his grandchildren, Kayla (Kortnie) Hendrix, Eric Hendrix, Kathryn, Megan and Gretchen Lueking, Shannon (Jack) Mattingly, Lauren, Olivia and Nathaniel Lueking, Cameron, Matthew and Jillian Kight; his great-grandchildren, Kirsten and Elijah Lee, Brayden, Keegan, Rhett, and Silas Lueking Hendrix and one brother Allen (Shirley) Lueking of Sullivan and several brother and sister-in-laws.
James was preceded in death by two sisters, Paula Bland and Diane Buckthal, one brother, Steve Lueking and his parents.
Friends may call from 10 A.M. until 11:45 A.M. on Wednesday at the Bloomfield Presbyterian Church, visitation will be outside in an open-air tent. Masks will be required. Guests are asked to share memories about Jim at 11:45.
Services will be at 12:00 P.M. at the Church with Rev. Hana Elliott and Rev. Tim Lueking officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.
The family asked that any memorial donations be made to the Bloomfield Presbyterian Church or the Shawnee Theater.
