Jake Bewley, 74, of Coal City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at his home with family by his side. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 1, 1946 to George “Pop” William Bewley and Alberta (Chadwick) Harmon.
Jake was a long-haul truck driver for 50 years. He married the love of his life, Judy Diane Rash on October 4, 1966. Jake served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Jake is survived by his three children, Theresa Hendershot, Ron W. Bewley (Cheryl Ann) and Sandy Meko; one sister, Roxanne Lindsey; twelve grandchildren, Dustin Bewley, Tiffany Batchelor, Kelsey Bewley, Ronald E. Bewley, Kristine Bewley, Carl “C.J.” James Bewley, Lindsey Hendershot, Jake Hendershot, Brian Summers, Brandi Summers, Nick Meko and Jonathon Meko; twenty-one great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Judy Bewley, and two brothers Danny Bewley and Bill Bewley.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Lutheran Cemetery in Patricksburg with military rites presented by the Owen County Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
