Elizabeth Harris

Elizabeth Rose Harris, age 67, of Sandborn, passed away 10:38 P.M. on Thursday, May 28, 2020, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. She was born in Linton on June 12, 1952, the daughter of Philip A. & Ella Rose (Landis) Bredeweg.

Elizabeth was a 1970 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School. She graduated from Vincennes University as an Licensed Practical Nurse.  She worked at Glenburn as a nurse and married Ralph Harris in 1974.  She and her husband started their family and worked together on their family farm.  She was a loved wife, mother, grandma, daughter, and a business partner in their farm.  

She was a lifetime member of the Saron United Church of Christ and spent many years enjoying 4-H throughout her youth.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, being part of the farm, and spending time taking care of her family.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 46 years, Ralph D. Harris of Sandborn, her mother, Ella Rose Bredeweg of Linton, her two daughters, Rebecca Harris and Brenda (Kenneth) Reetz, both of Sandborn, grandsons, Harris Reetz and Logan Harris, a sister, Phyllis (Skip) Gabbart of Millstadt, IL, a brother, John (Laurelann) Bredeweg of Linton, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral service for family and close friends will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 1, 2020, with Pastors J.D. Rose and Jeff Fulk officiating. Those that do not feel comfortable attending the service, are welcome to join to the funeral procession by arriving at the funeral home at 10:40 and processing to the burial at Sandborn Cemetery.

Public visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, May 31, from 2-6 P.M., and Monday from 9 A.M. until the time of service.  Mask will be required and provided at the front door of the funeral home for those who need one.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Saron United Church of Christ or Greene County General Hospital Foundation, through the funeral home.
