Dennis Allen Sheese, 74, of Spencer passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at the IU Health Bloomington Hospice House. He was born in Lafayette, IN on October 20, 1945 to Floyd and Ruth (Wright) Sheese.
Denny was a Freedom High School graduate in 1964. He served in the United States Army during 1965-1967. As a Vietnam veteran he was awarded an Army Commendation Medal and two Purple Hearts. Dennis was a decorated soldier.
Denny married Rhonda Trowbridge on January 18, 1969. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. He worked for Winders Lumber of Spencer and AutoZone in Bloomington. Denny enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews especially at sporting events.
Denny was survived by his wife, Rhonda Sheese; two sisters, Marion Smith (Leonard) and Shirley Strouse; sister-in-law, Debbie Greene (John); brother-in-law, Don Trowbridge (Jama); three nephews, Brian Greene (Amy), Brad Greene (Brittany) and Daryl Wood; three nieces, Amber Mullin (Charles), Hannah Powell (Brandon) and Christy Pless (Paul).
Denny adored his twelve great nieces and nephews, Kalyn, Sophie, Parker, Morgan, Cooper, Macy, Nola, Angel, Tim, Steven, Emily and Jarod.
He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Ruth Sheese, in-laws Charles and Catherine Trowbridge, nephew Todd Wood and a great nephew Jaiden Wood.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 3, 2020 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer with Brent Ranard officiating.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Owen County Humane Society.
