David L. White, age 62, of Freedom, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020, at Golden Living & Physical Rehabilitation Center in Bloomington. He was born in Bloomington, IN on February 13, 1958, the son of Joseph White & Janet (Leohr) Hawkins.
He worked at Rose and Walker for several years and also worked as a manager at the Worthington Value Market. He loved playing his guitar, watching IU basketball and spending time on the farm because he was an avid outdoorsman. He was very quick witted and loved to tell funny stories. He never met a stranger and will be truly missed by so many people who loved and admired him. He was like a second father to many young people; advising, caring for, and entertaining all, for many years. Instilling life lessons and humor, that gained him many a friend.
David is survived by his son, Joe White of Worthington; daughters, Jenny (Justin) Keller of Worthington and Jessica White of Worthington; grandchildren, Megan Bough, Jordan Bough, Ty Keller, Torie Buchanan, Tristen Keller and Trinity Keller; step-father, Richard “Dick” Hawkins sister, Cynthia (Mark) Thompson; stepbrother, Richard “Bud” Hawkins and step sister, Linda Hawkins
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be held at 11:30 am at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer on Thursday, December 3, 2020. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Freedom, IN.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, and Thursday from 10:30 am until the time of service.
