David Avory Knight, 81, of Pimento, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2021 at the Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 8, 1939 to Maude and Beatrice (Hargis) Knight.
David attended school in the Indianapolis area and graduated from IPS School #45. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a retired fork lift operator for RCA in Indianapolis. David enjoyed helping with the charity boxing each year at RCA.
David is survived by his six children, Sheri Hughes of Oaktown, Deborah (Robert) Simpson of Ellettsville, Patricia (Jeffery) Scott of Bloomington, Laura Jo Lowther of Bloomington, Michele (Monty) Guenin of Evansville and Travis Knight of Mooresville; two sisters, Patty Rodenbeck and Betty Bottoms; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son David Knight Jr., grandson Dustin Knight, two sisters Virginia Stieneker and Barbara Armstrong, and a brother Joseph Knight.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Friendship Park Cemetery in Paragon.
