Brenda Sue Custis, 72, Solsberry, formerly of Reelsville, died on May 28, 2021.
Brenda was a 1967 graduate of Reelsville High School in Putnam County. She retired from Farmers & Mechanics Bank in Bloomington after many years of service. Brenda was a master Gardener with a love for flowers and gardening. She enjoyed collecting antiques and sold some of them from her business in Solsberry. She was an active member of the Solsberry Methodist Church.
Brenda was born on May 1, 1949 in Brazil, Indiana to Virgil and Mary Landes. On July 24, 1967 she married Wesley Steve Custis and he survives.
Other survivors include sons Chris Custis (partner Nan) of Camby and Jason Custis of Bloomington, brother David Landes (Nancy) of Reelsville, brother-in-law Mike Custis (Kathy) of Greencastle; also, her aunt Ethel Jordan of Greencastle, cousin Joyce Emmert and life-long friend Cheryl Steuerwald, both of Brazil, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. on Thursday June 3, at the Solsberry Methodist Church.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday June 4, at the Solsberry Methodist Church with Pastor Matt Whitacre officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday at Girton Cemetery in Reelsville, Indiana.
The family wishes any memorial donations be made to IU Health Hospice House in Brenda’s name.
