Charla (Lambert) Smith, age 58, of Worthington, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at Greene County General Hospital. She was born in Linton, IN on August 17, 1962, the daughter of Charles & Janice (Martindale) Lambert.
She was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Worthington. After graduation she married her high school sweetheart, Charles J. Smith, and raised three children in their Texas home. She sent out hand written Christmas cards every year. She recently moved to her hometown of Worthington with plans to return to Texas this summer to visit her kids and grandkids. She would give the shirt off her back to a stranger if they needed it.
Charla is survived by her loving sons, Spencer Smith, Joseph Smith and Kain Smith, all of Texas; sisters, Jonamay Lawson of Freedom, Jill Denmark of Portland, OR and Cheri Lambert of Worthington; grandchildren, Rilynn Smith, Josey Smith, Skyler Smith, Logan Smith, Chris Smith and Noah Smith; aunt, Lana (Martindale) Waskom and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, Charles.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Welch & Cornett Funeral Home and Crematory in Worthington.
