Sharron Ann Davenport, 79, of Spencer went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 peacefully at home. She was born in Beech Grove, Indiana on September 3, 1941 to Denver and Bonnie (Jacobs) Hunter.
Sharron graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis. She retired from the USPS after 24 years of service including being Postmaster at the post office in Poland, IN. She also worked at the Owen County State Bank and Babbs Supermarket in Spencer, where she enjoyed her coworkers and customers. Sharron enjoyed volunteering at the Owen County Center for Women’s Ministries and the Area 10 Agency. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, they were the lights of her life.
Sharron is survived by her daughter, Sherri (Mike) Barrientos; son-in-law, Matt Ragan; brother, Larry Hunter; sister-in-law, Hatsue Hunter; five grandchildren, Christine (James) Chambers, Jannette (David) Hollandsworth, Kayla Jones, Mattric Ragan and Macaulay Ragan; seven great-grandchildren, Joel, Annalisa, Marcus King, Eliza, Isabella and Alexander Chambers, and Chandler Ragan; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Karen Ragan, sister Deborah Bowling and brother Ronald “Bud” Hunter.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Grandi officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Owen County Center for Women’s Ministries or the Owen Valley Christian Fellowship Church.
