Robert “Bob” Bradford Lighter, 72, of Spencer, passed away at his residence on Monday, May 17, 2021. Bob was born in Bloomington, Indiana on October 22, 1948 to Oscar “Bud” Lighter and Laura (Hardin) Louise Lighter. Bob graduated from Gosport High School and then married the love of his life, Wilda Sue (Keefover) Lighter, on June 11, 1967. Bob retired from Rolls Royce in Indianapolis in 2009. He was past master of Spencer Masonic Lodge #95, and remained active with the lodge. Bob was a longtime member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church in Carp where he was an Elder and Sunday school teacher. Bob enjoyed coaching his boys in little league baseball and basketball and was past president of the Owen Valley Band Boosters. Bob and Wilda loved traveling to watch their grandchildren play sports and did so up until he no longer could go.
Bob is survived by his wife, Wilda, children, Denise (Doug) West, Robert B. “Rob” Lighter, II., Tim (Melanie) Lighter, grandchildren, Kayla Goble, Kevin Goble, Kyle Goble, Samaritan Lighter, McKenzie (Lucas) Lighter-Booher, step-grandchildren, Tyra (Jimmy) West-Pitman, step-great-grandchildren, Taggertt Pitman, (twin girls on the way), sister-in-law, Wilta Lighter and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Buddy Lighter, Wanda Rush, Terry Lighter and nephew, Gary Lighter.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, 105 North Montgomery Street, Spencer. Pastor Tracy Killinger will officiate. Burial will follow in Gosport Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, May 21, 2021, with Masonic Service at 8:00 PM, and visitation again Saturday, 10:00 AM until the time of service, all at the funeral home.
