Richard L. ‘Dick’ Carnegie, 74, of Odon, Indiana, passed away with his loving wife Julie by his side, on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Evansville, Indiana. He was born on March 21, 1947 in Odon to George Junior ‘Tuck’ and Bonnie Ruth (Farren) Carnegie. Dick married Julie A. (Rollins) Carnegie on March 16, 1985.
Dick was a member of the Odon VFW Post #9627 Men’s Auxiliary and was self-employed. He enjoyed deer, ginseng and mushroom hunting and fishing. Dick had a wonderful and enduring sense of humor as all of his friends and family can attest. His passion for motorcycles, 4 wheelers, 4×4 mudding and anything mechanical persisted to the last day.
Family left to treasure the memory of Dick include: his wife, Julie; three sons, Richie Carnegie of Richmond, VA, Corey Carnegie of Burns City, IN and Cody (Ashten) Carnegie of Odon; grandchildren, Maddix, Sophie, Xavier, Brynlee, Corriyn, Jordan, Arron and Dusten.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Cathy Jo Carnegie.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Scotland Cemetery in Scotland, Indiana with Tim Maryfield officiating.
