Rev. Myron Young

Myron W. Young, age 84, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully at 8:36 pm on Monday, October 19, 2020, at his residence. He was born in Rice Lake, WI on August 12, 1936, the son of Rev. Wilfred H. & Mary Mae (Dennison) Young.

He graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 1958 and became a rural home missionary with the American Sunday School Union in Monroe and six surrounding counties. He served the Lord in Bloomington, Morgantown and Acton for a few years then he served in Vincennes for 13 years before coming to Linton where he retired from Olive Branch Baptist Church in 2006 after 15 and a half years. After retiring, he served in New Prospect Baptist Church as song leader and visited those at home and in nursing homes.

Myron served the Lord in many different ways, including driving a school bus for 40 years, EMT in Acton & Vincennes, Deputy Marshall in Morgantown, Volunteer Fireman in Morgantown & Indianapolis, and chaplain for Christian Motorcycle Association.

He enjoyed riding mototcycles, pheasant hunting, and music.  

Myron is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Millicent R. (Grubbs) Young of Bloomington, IN; sons, Rusty Young of Washington, IN and Randy (Karen) Young of Broken Arrow, OK; daughter, Cindy Chudy of Bloomington, IN; grandsons, Jason (Kristen) Young and Tyler (Taylor) Young, granddaughter, Ashley (Thomas) Stollings; great grandchildren, Graham Young, Jude Young, Kolton Stollings and Hope Stollings. He is also survived by several heart adopted children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Raymond Young, and an infant grandson, Jonathan.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm at Olive Branch Baptist Church on Saturday, October 24, 2020 with Dr. Richard Grubbs, assisted by Rev. Jason Young and Rev. Tim Young officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the church from 12:00 NOON until the time of service.
