Phyllis Lorene (Harper) Chipman, 88, of Bloomfield, passed away at her home on May 7, 2021. She was the daughter of Lowell and Marjorie (Price) Harper. She was a homemaker and member of the Walnut Grove Church of God.
On December 29, 1951 she married the love of her life, Ralph D. Chipman. She joined Ralph while he was in the service living in Texas and Virginia. This began her love of travel where eventually together they traveled to all 50 states, mostly in their camper.
This union raised five children; Barbara (Carey Stout) Kirkman, Loren Chipman, Russell (Tena) Chipman, Lisa (Mark) Myers and Christina Chipman. Other survivors include; grandchildren, Eric (Teena Foster) Kirkman, J.D. Kirkman, Brooke (Ryan) Petty, Aaron (Dana) Chipman, Cody Chipman, Macayla (Brandon) Kingston, Michelle (Austin) Criswell, Harley Chipman, Noah Chipman and Asa Chipman; ten great grandchildren, Lynnly Kirkman, Chloe Kirkman, Avi Kirkman, Braeden Petty, Blane Kirkman, Caiden Chipman, Reece Petty, Kellen Petty, Jasmine Chipman, and Harper Kingston on the way; Also surviving are her siblings, Velma (Raymond) Bland, Helen Goad, and Bob (Jonell) Harper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Scott Kirkman, mother and Father in-law, Rolena and Glenn Chipman, brother-in-law, Don Goad, and sister-in-law, Sharon Harper.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the Walnut Grove Church of God. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Public visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Walnut Grove Church of God or Walnut Grove Cemetery.
