Nicholas T. Parr, 60, of Dugger, IN passed away Friday, March 24, 2023 at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born in Mt. Carmel, IL August 19, 1962 the son of Norman Parr and Dalius Newkirk Parr.
Nick served in the US Army as a military policeman, he was also a member of the Mt. Zion Church of Christ, in Carlisle, IN. He was an Union Insulator out of Local #37,of Evansville, IN for 20 years and a Coal Miner for Solar Sources for 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, also three brothers, Dick, Kevin and Keith Parr.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years whom he married on November 2, 1985 Lisa (Turpen ) Parr of Dugger, IN, a son, Nick Parr (Amanda) of Shelburn, IN, two daughters, Cassie Pope (Josh) of Linton, IN and Shelby Parr (Dalton Lewis) of Dugger, IN, a brother, James Parr (Georgenna) of Mt. Carmel, IL, two sisters, Karen Parr of Dugger, IN and Melanie Bishop of Galvanston, Tx., five grandchildren, Brayden Parr, Easton Parr, Avery Curtis, Hadley Pope, and Ellie Lewis.
Funeral services will be at 2:00PM Monday, March 27, 2023 at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, IN with Doug and John Hathaway officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until 2:00PM Monday. Burial in the Woodward Cemetery with Military Graveside service by the Sullivan Co. Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Newkirk’s Funeral Home to help with burial expenses.
