Lela Beatrice (Young) Franklin, 96, of Spencer passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at the McCormick”s Creek Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Spencer. She was bon in Oolitic, Indiana on December 28, 1924 to Clint and Lettie (Tucker) Young.
Bea married Rufus Turner Franklin in Stinesville on December 13, 1946 and they had three children together. She was a Homemaker and a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Spencer.
Bea is survived by her son, Mark Franklin of Lakeland, FL; daughter, Juda Adams (George) of Marion, IA; sister Lucille McHaley of Spencer, IN; four grandchilren Tyler Franklin, Travis Franklin, Michael Adams and Lisa Esquivel; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Turner, infant son, three brothers Ira Young, William Young and Tom Young, and three sisters Leva Young, Leona Shepard, and Ada Laymon.
Private family services will be held.
