Joseph Ault

Joseph Ray Ault, 91, of Gosport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at the Owen Valley Health Campus. He was born in Petersburg, Indiana on April 18, 1929 to Ralph and Ruth (Abbott) Ault.

 Ray graduated from Petersburg High School in 1948. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Ray married Shirley Mae White on April 5, 1963. He retired from Arvin Industries in Franklin and worked in the sporting goods department at Walmart in Spencer. Ray was a member of the Spencer American Legion Post 285, VFW Post 1404 and Spencer Masonic Lodge #95. He attended the Mt. Olivet Christian Church. He was an avid reader, enjoyed fishing and loved working on cars.

 Ray is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Shirley Ault; five children, Billie Fair (Rebecca), Linda Baker (Ray), Joseph Ault Jr. (Pam), Terry Fair and Sherri Callahan; one brother, Charles   Ault, one sister, Lela Ault; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 A Private family service will be held. Interment will take place at Chambersville Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Owen County Honor Guard.

 The family will receive friends from 2-6 PM on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home with a Masonic service at 6:00 PM.

 In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin, Indiana.
