Jack Beverstock

Jackie Lee Beverstock, 81, of Linton, IN, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, April 13, 2020 in Bargersville, IN. Jack was born on August 30, 1938 in Independence, Missouri, the son of Bard Beverstock and Iris (Robison) Beverstock Love. He married his love Nancy Lee on May 22, 1982. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy from 1957 – 1963. He and his brother, Larry Beverstock, served together aboard the USS Saratoga.

Jack was a member of the Zorah Shrine, Sullivan County Shrine Club, Greene County Shrine Club (Past President), Linton Rotary (Past President), Linton BPO Elks 866 (Past Exalted Ruler), Linton Masonic Lodge 560 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Linton American Legion Post 22, and the Linton VFW Post 7118. He retired in 1996 from Prudential Insurance Company.

Family left to cherish the memory of Jack include his loving wife, Nancy of Linton; Mother-in-law, Vera Copple Foutch; daughters: Melinda (Michael) Beverstock-Chapman and Michele Beverstock-Snider, both of Brownsburg, Nanette (Roy) Potter of Bargersville, and Leigh Anne (Scott) Shields of Cumming, GA; grandsons: Jonathon “Yogi” (Danielle) Snider, Isaac (Haley) Beverstock, Brett (Britt) Shields, R.J. Potter, and Josh Chapman; granddaughters:  Kelly Shields, Baleigh Potter, and Tiffany Chapman; great-grandson: Waylon Beverstock; brothers: Larry (Sandy) Beverstock, Arthur (Rea) Love and sister, Beverly Decker. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Diane VanGorder.

A celebration of life honoring the life of Jack will be held at a later date. This will include Military Honors, Masonic and Elks Rites.

A Graveside service for Immediate family will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2020. The family invites all those wishing to pay their respects to meet at 1:00 P.M. to join a stay-in-vehicle procession from Anderson-Poindexter to Fairview Cemetery. Jack will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery, Linton, IN.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital, Cincinnati.
