Frank McCrary

Frank D. McCrary, 83, of Sandborn, Indiana, passed away with his family by his side, on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at his home. Frank was born on February 3, 1938 in Decker Chapel, Indiana to Ray and Helen (Lane) McCrary. Frank married his loving wife of 60 years, Lenora R. (Bubenzer) McCrary on October 9, 1960.

Frank was a US Army Veteran. He was a member of the Bethel Church of Freelandville and the Elnora Masonic Lodge. He was a barber for 16 years and then worked as a coal miner at Hawthorne Mine before retiring in 2000. Frank loved to watch St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and IU Basketball.

Family left to cherish the memory of Frank include: his wife, Lenora McCrary; three sons, Kent (Mitzi Dunn) McCrary of Auburn, AL, Scott (Chris) McCrary and Troy (Chris) McCrary, both of Vincennes; grandchildren, Corbin, Trent, Lauren, Gus and Kahre McCrary, all of Vincennes; two brothers, Dave and Dan McCrary, both of Vincennes; two sisters, JoAnn Vieke of Vincennes and Margaret ‘Muggs’ Steininger of Decker.

Frank was preceded in death by: his parents; infant grandson, Chase McCrary; brother, Billie Ray McCrary; sisters, Geneva Johnson and Ada Marie Carie.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Bethel Church in Freelandville with Pastor Bryan Taylor and Bryan Sanders officiating. Frank will be laid to rest in Bethel Church Cemetery, Freelandville, Indiana.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 23 and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM on Thursday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sandborn Town Park or Bethel Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
