Floretta Manning, 88, of Odon, Indiana, went peacefully to Heaven, with her loved ones by her side, on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon. She was born on October 1, 1933 in Odon to Joseph C. and Cassie (Hadley) Harris. Floretta married her loving husband of 70 years, Robert S. Manning on September 30, 1951.
Floretta was a member of the Odon Nazarene Church. She enjoyed doing missionary work and reading. She liked to fish and camp. Floretta most of all loved being a housewife and taking care of her home and family.
Family left to cherish the many memories of Floretta include: her husband, Robert Manning; two sons, Bob (Ann) Manning of Odon and Mike (Gloria) Manning of Greenfield; one daughter, Bonnie (John) Jones of Odon; daughter-in-law, Ramona Manning of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Justin Manning, Crystal Baker, Jared Manning, Jeff Manning, Shari Manning, Rick Manning, Holly Wells, Lacy Thompson, Andy Manning, Bryan Jones and Debbie Jones; twenty-seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Floretta was preceded in death by: her parents; one son, Kenny Manning; brothers, Clifford Harris, Freddie Harris and Joseph Harris Jr.; half-brother, Ray Harris; sisters, Flossie Smith, Goldie Davies, Dorothy McClure Brewer, Edna Beal and LaVonne Shake Breeden.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at the Odon Nazarene Church with Chris Hughes officiating. Floretta will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.
Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Odon Nazarene Church Mission Fund. Envelopes will be available at the church.
