Edra O. (Close) Kitchen, 92, of Spencer, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2020 at her residence. Edra was born on February 14, 1928 in Greencastle, Indiana to Boyd Close and Marie (Ward) Close. Edra was a member of the Lifeway Baptist Church in Ellettsville. She loved reading, singing, going to church, being a mother, Sweet Owen County and the Lord.
Edra is survived by children, Nancy (Bill) Goodman, Alice Bailey, Martha (Dave) Auchtung, Elizabeth Clark, Paul Kitchen, Daniel (Kari) Kitchen, Naomi Kitchen, Rachel Kitchen, Sarah Scott, grandchildren, Kathryn Harris, Nathan (Jamie) Goodman, Michelle McQueary, Michael McQueary, Samuel (Rachel) Clark, Carrie (Garrett) Cupp, Paul (Katelyn) Kitchen, Austin Kitchen, Camellia (Marion) Frye, Stephen Kitchen, Alex Kitchen, Phillip Kitchen, Robyn Kitchen, Jessicah (Jacob) Betzner, Joseph (Gaylen) Wilkerson, Katelyn Scott, Anthony Scott, Julianne Scott, Thomas Scott, Penelope Scott, great-grandchildren, Meara, Nathaniel, Ethan, Amaya, Isaiah, Conner, Lance, Sophie, Emily, Warren, Caroline, Lucas, Audrey, Roman, Benjamin, Evalynn, Gabriel, Sebastian, and several nieces and nephews.
Edra was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Albert Stanley Kitchen, daughter, Rebekah Wilkerson, siblings, David Close, Leatrice Curtis, Austin Close, Ethel Hilburn, and son-in-law, David Bailey.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the Vandalia Methodist Cemetery. Brother Michael Thurmond willl officiate.
Visitation will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, until the time of service, at the cemetery.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, social distancing and mask will be required.
