Cynthia Keown, 68, of Dugger, Indiana passed away at her residence Tuesday, March 7, 2023.
She was born in Lake County, Indiana on October 12, 1954, the daughter of Eugene Keown and Erna Stasiak Keown. Cindy graduated from Calumet High School in 1973, she also attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Sullivan, Indiana.
Cindy loved with all her heart. If you knew her, then you’d know how much she loved her family and how she tried to help anyone she knew in need. Cindy was known by most for her sense of humor. She was always saying something silly or telling a joke. “She is more precious than rubies.” Proverbs 3:15
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, James Keown and former husband & friend, William “Bill” Kohlwey.
Survivors include a son, Brian Brightwell (Tina) of Dugger, Indiana, two daughters: Lenise Cornelius (Tyler) of Graysville, Indiana and Desiree Davidson (Justin) of Dugger, Indiana, brother, Geno Keown of Griffith, Indiana and nine grandchildren: Dakota, Michael, Matthew, Megan, Tristan, Lila, Vanessa, Adalynn and Kaydence.
Funeral services will be at 3:00PM Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger, Indiana with Trent Wilkes officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00PM until 3:00PM Saturday. Cremation will follow.
