Cheryl Lynn (Talkington) Smith, 55, of Spencer, passed away at home on Friday, January 8, 2021 after a long battle with illness. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 24, 1965 to Donald and Kathryn (Dean) Talkington.
Cheryl was a graduate of Owen Valley High School and worked at Casey’s General Store in Spencer until she had to take a medical leave due to illness. She attended the Spencer Wesleyan Church and the Owen Valley Christian Fellowship Church. Cheryl loved going to church and helping others find their faith in Christ. She was also involved with several faith-based groups on Facebook.
Cheryl is survived by her two children, Donald Lee Smith III of Bloomington, IN and Lyssa R. Crouch of Danville, IN; mother, Kathryn Talkington of Spencer; two brothers, Derek Talkington and Brent Talkington both of Spencer; and her beloved cat Butters.
She was preceded in death by her father Donald Talkington, maternal grandparents William and Clotilde Dean, and paternal grandparents Ursal Talkington and Jennie Miller.
At this time a private family service will be held. There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.
