Wallace A. McKinley

Wallace A. McKinley, 83, of Coal City, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021 at his residence.

Born March 16, 1938 in Ridgeport, Indiana, he was the son of Robert Leroy and Irene (Hoke) McKinley.

He was the owner and operator of McKinley Aluminum and was one of the co-founders of the Greene County 4H Club. He built and operated the OK Corral in Bloomfield, McKinley Tack and Auction Company. He won the World Blue Pleasure Class in 1980. He was inducted into the Cowboy Hall of Fame in 1981. He originally started the White River Valley Antique Tractor Association and was instrumental in developing the horse and pony club in Monroe County.

Surviving relatives include: his wife, Sharon Dalton-McKinley; children, Cheri Lynn McKinley and Lita Kay McKinley; four granddaughters, Lacey Haley, Cody Etherton, Josie Dennis and Tara Jones; ten great grandchildren and one great, great grandson; stepchildren, Angela Trojan and Tim Dalton; five step grandchildren, Lexi McClearen, Jessie Brindley, Sophey Dalton, Sydney Dalton and Saydey Dalton; two step great grandsons; three sisters, Connie Frye, Joy Yoho and Cindy Jett.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Willie McKinley and his parents.

He was a Husband, a Daddy, a Grandpa, a Great Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, friend, and to many, a hero and a legend.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at the Solsberry Christian Church. Interment will follow in Bingham Cemetery in rural Solsberry.

Public visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Solsberry Christian Church.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Greene County 4H Club.
