Settles named CFO of Greene County General Hospital

Greene County General Hospital is pleased to announce April Settles has been promoted to serve as the organization’s Chief Financial Officer.

She’ll assume her new role June 1. Settles, a CPA, currently serves as CFO for Greene County General Hospital, LLC – who oversees the hospital’s physician group, Greene County Health. She assumed that role in October 2012.

settlesShe replaces Tim Norris who announced his retirement earlier this year. Norris has served as Greene County General Hospital’s CFO since 1992.

“I am truly blessed to have been the given the opportunity of succeeding Tim Norris as the CFO of Greene County General Hospital,” Settles said. “During my career I have had the opportunity to work for successful, employee-focused organizations and the hospital is no different. Our leadership team is committed to the future success of the hospital and its employees.”

In May, Settles along with other hospital employees traveled to Florida for a conference geared toward community, rural, and critical access hospitals.

“The knowledge and materials that we gained at this conference will assist the hospital as we make changes that are necessary in order to remain in compliance with regulations. Additionally, we are looking forward to implementing other programs that will benefit the Hospital and our patients, including on-line bill pay,” Settles said.

Settles is a 2001 graduate of White River Valley High School, and a 2005 graduate of the University of Southern Indiana. Before joining the staff at Greene County General Hospital, LLC, Settles worked for BKD, a public accounting firm in Evansville. She also worked for German American Bank, where in 2012, she became a vice-president in the trust department in Jasper.

“My previous professional experiences in accounting, auditing, and investments have provided me with a unique skill-set and have prepared me well for my role as CFO. Further, the individuals that I will be working with daily are long-time, knowledgeable hospital employees that are focused on the success of our organization,” Settles said. “I am looking forward to working with them all as we commit ourselves to providing quality, compassionate care in an environment that values excellence and integrity. In addition, I hope to foster a culture of lifelong learning in the finance department that embraces education, training, and career development.”
