Yvette M. McCombs, 99, of Lyons, Indiana, passed peacefully from this life on June 10, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on February 15, 1924, in St. Maur, France to Marcel and Agnus (Duhayon) Meinuer. Yvette (Meinuer) married Oscar E. McCombs on June 30, 1947.
Yvette was a member of the Marco United Methodist Church and a 50-year member Order of Eastern Star, Chapter #140. She worked as a seamstress for Max Pirtle Clothing and Mercury Cleaners for many years. People from Lyons, Marco and the surrounding communities were blessed by Yvette’s expertise in alterations and other sewing projects.
Family who will cherish Yvette’s memory include a son, Bill (Cindy) McCombs of Marco; grandchildren, Stephanie (Brian) Robinson, John (Amy) McCombs, and Heather (Tony) Lawson; 10 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Roger Meinuer of France.
Yvette was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, Andre Meinuer, and her parents.
Funeral services to honor Yvette’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Chaplain, Jeff Fulk officiating. Yvette will be laid to rest in the Marco Cemetery, Marco, Indiana.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, with an Order of Eastern Star Memorial Service at 7:00 PM. Calling will continue from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Marco Cemetery or Lyons United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
