Robert Joe Wilson

Robert Joe Wilson, 71, of Linton, passed away, with family by his side, on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. He was born on November 20, 1950 in Carmel, Indiana to Donald E. and Thelma Pauline (Platt) Wilson. Joe married his loving wife, Sandra R. (Hesser) Wilson in 1975.

Joe was a US Navy Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he served as bishop of the church three times and in several other capacities. Joe worked as a drafting designer for Crane NWSC, retiring in 2020 with several years of service. He enjoyed playing guitar, singing and entertaining for others his entire life. Joe lived his life to serve others.

Family left to cherish the memories of Joe include: his wife, Sandy Wilson; two sons, Jared (Danielle) Wilson of Washington and Mark (Tera) Wilson of Ft. Mitchell, AL; one daughter, Summer Dawn Wilson of Linton; twelve grandchildren; two sisters, Janet Notch of Tennessee, Judy Moore and brother, Jim Wilson, both of Westfield.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services to honor the life of Joe will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Bishop Chad Wagner officiating. Joe will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, November 14 and from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
