Larry Lee Maryfield, 82, of Washington, Indiana, passed from this life, on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Aperion in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born on November 11, 1941 in Washington to Eldon A. and Naomi Ruth (Fielder) Maryfield. Larry married his loving wife, Sheila (Bechtel) Maryfield, on September 18, 1982.
Larry was a US Air Force Veteran, serving on the 71st Tactical Missile Squadron in Germany for 4 years. He attended Diesel Mechanic School in Nashville, Tennessee then worked at Rogers Group as a diesel mechanic until retiring in 1999. Larry enjoyed driving around in his T-Bucket car, spending time doing mechanic work at the garage with his dad and brothers. He loved wildlife, spending time outside, watching NASCAR and listening to country music. Larry liked cooking beans and potatoes.
Family left to cherish the memory of Larry include: his wife, Sheila Maryfield; two sons, Daniel Leroy (Fawn) Maryfield of Port Orchard, WA and Stephen Lynn (Rebecca) Maryfield of Roy, UT; one granddaughter, Lacey Ann Maryfield; one brother, Timothy Jan (Diana) Maryfield of Odon; one sister, Peggy (Jim) Humphrey of Florida; brother-in-law, Greg (Dee) Bechtel and sister-in-laws, Cindy Asdell, Janet Bechtel, Linda (Ron) Woodruff and Lisa Troop; special friend, Christy Vaught.
Larry was preceded in death by: his parents; one son, Cary Maryfield and brother, David Maryfield.
Funeral services to honor the life of Larry will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Meng Family Funeral Homes at Odon with Ronald Woodruff officiating. Larry will be laid to rest at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon following military rites by the Odon VFW Post #9627.
Family and friends may call from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
