Jeanne M. Davidson, 86, of Odon, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020, as a result of complications from a fall that she had earlier in the year. She was born on October 29, 1933 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Lawrence and Jennie (Jenc) Benda. She married David R. Davidson, Sr. on January 14, 1956.
Jeanne served in the US Navy as a Personnel Specialist Petty Officer Second class during the Korean War. She attended Indiana University and then held a variety of positions including as a bookkeeper for JC Penney’s and as a foreman at Keller’s in Linton. She later worked as an Explosives Handler at Crane Naval base for several years before retiring from that position. She was a member of St. Johns Parish and St. Peters Parish. Jeanne worked together with her late husband on several business adventures, most recently as the owner of several rental properties in Crane. She was the first woman in her family line to graduate high school, attend college, and serve in the military. She was a kind and loving soul who supported her family and took care of their needs over the years and will be greatly missed.
Family left to cherish the memory of Jeanne include: two sons, David Davidson II and John (Debra) Davidson; two daughters, Tasha (Tony) Thian and Eugenia Davidson; seven grandchildren, Jamie, Scott, Doug, Jacob, Ross, Soham and Kayleigh; eight great-grandchildren, Braylen, Jersey, River, Justice, Jordan, Nevaeh, Rome and Noah; one sister, Loretta Barkhymer and other family and friends.
Jeanne was preceded in death by: her parents, Lawrence and Jennie Benda; her husband, David and infant son, Bruce.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Jeanne will be on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 12:00 Noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bramble with Father Kenneth Walker officiating. Jeanne will be laid to rest in Bramble Cemetery following military graveside rites provided by the Odon VFW Post #9627.
Family and friends may visit at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12 Noon on Thursday.
Following CDC guidelines, face masks will be required and continue with social distancing please.
