Frank Gravemier

Frank Andrew Gravemier, age 90, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 10:08 am on Friday, June 4, 2021, at his residence. He was born in Gary, IN on October 25, 1930, the son of  Carroll & Fern Edith (Byers) Gravemier. 

He was a graduate of Linton Stockton High School. He began working as a paper boy as a teenager and eventually moved his way up to a type setter and add designer at Linton Daily Citizen, retiring after 40+ years of dedicated service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Linton. He enjoyed working on things around the house, was handy in all types of trades, and was a loving caregiver to his wife for many years. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Mary (Gillette) Gravemier of Linton; son, Mark (Debbie) Gravemier of Mississippi; son-in-law, Leland Roth of Sterling, Virginia; grandsons, Paul Andrew (Lyndsie) Gravemier and Caleb Owen Gravemier; brother, Wayne Gravemier as well as several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gregory Gravemier and sisters, Phyllis Weaver, Norma VanHeck and Margaret Buck. 

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 with Pastor Dave Tyra officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton. 

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the time of service.
