David Herschel Stader

David Herschel Stader, 57, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021 with his loving wife by his side.

Born May 23, 1964 in Washington, he was the son of Herschel and Norma Jean Stader.

David graduated from Washington High School and joined the family owned business Hersch’s IGA. He later moved to Bloomfield, Indiana where he and his brother owned and operated the Bloomfield IGA for more than thirty years. He more recently drove a school bus for Bloomfield area schools.

David enjoyed his IGA family of co-workers, friends and customers for many years. Driving a school bus brought him a different type of contentment with his daily contact with many children which he greatly enjoyed. He also enjoyed the company of his many pet cats over the years.

David is survived by his wife Robin (Michael) Stader whom he married on November 7, 1983, his brothers and sisters, Steve Blubaum, Becky Blubaum Guthrie, Jim Stader, Jan Stader Hull and Sara Stader and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roger Blubaum.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the Antioch Christian Church in Bloomfield, with Rev. Jack Tolbert, Rev. Gerald DeVore and Rev. Arlen Pope officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery in rural Bloomfield.

Public visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Antioch Christian Church in rural Bloomfield.
