Linton-Stockton 8th Graders Celebrate Promotion to High School

LINTON, IN — The future Class of 2029 took a major step forward earlier today as Linton-Stockton’s 8th grade students officially became incoming freshmen during a promotion ceremony held in the high school gymnasium.

The event, filled with proud families, supportive teachers, and a strong sense of Miner pride, featured speeches, student recognitions, and musical performances. The bleachers were lined with banners marking decades of athletic championships, creating a fitting backdrop as this class was welcomed into the next phase of their educational journey.

The ceremony included performances by the band and choir, whose efforts filled the gym with energy and emotion. Students, dressed in spring pastels and summer-ready attire, smiled nervously as they crossed the stage—receiving not diplomas yet, but recognition of their growth and the road ahead.

For the 8th graders, this marks not just the end of middle school, but the beginning of their high school years—a time sure to be filled with learning, growing, and no doubt, a few more championship banners on the walls of “Miner Country.”

Congratulations to these rising freshmen. The high school halls await.
