Borders: Paid Statehouse internship applications closing soon

The October 31st deadline to apply for an Indiana House Republican internship during the 2025 legislative session is fast approaching, according to State Rep. Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville).

This full-time, spring semester internship is Monday through Friday at the Statehouse in Indianapolis during the legislative session, which will start in January and conclude in April. House interns earn $900 bi-weekly and can gain academic credit through their college or university.

“House internships are a unique way to get a front row seat to how laws are made,” Borders said. “For those interested in government or wanting to further their professional experience, this is a great opportunity.”

Borders said interested college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students and recent graduates of all majors should visit indianahouserepublicans.com/internship to complete the application before October 31st.

Indiana House internships include free parking, career and professional development assistance, and enrollment access to an Indiana government class. Interns are also eligible to apply for a competitive $3,000 scholarship to use toward undergraduate and graduate expenses.

The program offers opportunities for students to work in various departments related to their studies, including legislative operations, policy and communications.

Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and are due by October 31st.
