Allan Lee Close Sr., age 60, of Poland, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2020, at I U Health Bloomington Hospital. He was born in Bloomington on December 13, 1959, the son of Fred & Barbara (McMillan) Close.
Allan was a graduated of Edgewood High School in Ellettsville. He retired from Owen Valley High School in 2018 where he worked as a custodian.
Allan enjoyed gardening, watching birds, taking care of his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Risa (Cooper)Close of Poland, his mother, Barbara McMillan, three children, Allan Close, Jr. of Spencer, Ashley Cabe of Bloomington, and Brandi (Scott) Edwards of Coal City, granddaughters, Kiera, Shelby, Holly, and Rebecca, grandsons, Shawn, Shane, Seth, and Corbin, and his siblings, Sandy, Pat, Ethel, Dorothy, Steve, Bill, Dub, and Jack.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Private arrangements have been entrusted to West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer.
