Linton-Stockton School Corporation is moving forward with a major renovation and construction project involving an anticipated investment of more than $20 million in its educational facilities.
Preliminary financial documents outlined approximately $22.7 million in construction and related expenses, with proposed bond financing of approximately $23.8 million.
Planned improvements at Linton-Stockton Junior/Senior High School include building additions, roofing, flooring, plumbing, heating and cooling systems, electrical infrastructure, and technology upgrades. Construction bids were scheduled to be opened yesterday, November 5, 2026.
Beyond the improvements themselves, the project’s financial implications are likely to be of interest to local property owners. Earlier projections suggested the corporation could finance the work without increasing its existing debt-service property tax rate, although those estimates depended on interest rates, property assessments, and other financial factors.
Whether those expectations remain unchanged as the project advances is not yet clear. Earlier today, The Lintonian requested updated information from the school corporation regarding construction costs, financing arrangements, the anticipated timeline, and any potential impact on property taxes.
The undertaking represents a significant investment in the district’s facilities, with improvements expected to serve students and staff for years to come. Its long-term financial implications, of course, remain an important part of the discussion.
