Leland “Red” Wayne Arthur, 79, of Ellettsville, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2020 at the I.U. Bloomington Health Hospital. Leland was born on May 22, 1940 in Greene County to Earl “Wick” Arthur and Mable Louise (Keifner) Arthur. Leland graduated from Solsberry High School and retired from Woolery Stone Company in Bloomington. Leland married the love of his life, Marjorie Alice (Workman) Arthur in 1968 and together they raised a wonderful loving family. Leland loved going to fleamarkets any chance that he could.
Leland is survived by his wife, Marjorie Alice (Workman) Arthur, children, Ronald Lee and wife Shannon Elaine Arthur of Spencer, Sandra Kay and husband Robert E. Cummings of Bloomington, Larry Dale and wife Elizabeth Arthur of Bloomington, grandchildren, Ashly Nicole Dorman, Katelyn Olivia Arthur, Joshua Tyler Arthur, Christa Inez Arthur, Caleb Joseph Arthur, Graceson Elaine Arthur, Olivia Suzanne Arthur, great-grandchildren, Conner Riley Dorman, Peyton Ryder Dorman, Sophia Rose Dorman, brothers, Keith Arthur, David Arthur and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Leland was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Verlin Shields, Carolyn Rush and Gary Arthur.
As per Leland’s request, there will be no public services. Burial will take place in Ridgeport Cemetery at a later date.
