Joink, a Terre Haute–based fiber broadband provider, has acquired Endeavor Communications’ existing fiber network assets in Linton, according to a February 11th press release.
Management of broadband services — including billing and customer support — will transition from Endeavor to Joink within the next 30 days.
More significantly, Joink announced plans to expand fiber service throughout the remainder of Linton, with the goal of building a full fiber network making high-speed internet available community-wide.
In the release, CEO Matthew Van Hoesen described the move as a long-term investment in the community.
“At Joink, we believe reliable connectivity is more than just technology, it’s about trust, service, and being a dependable partner,” Van Hoesen said. “We’re honored to welcome Linton customers and look forward to serving the community with the same reliability people expect today, backed by a team focused on the future.”
What Changes Now
For existing Endeavor fiber customers, the near-term change will be administrative: billing and customer support shifting to Joink.
For the broader community, however, the implications are longer-term.
Fiber infrastructure affects more than streaming speeds. It influences remote work viability, small business competitiveness, property values, telehealth access, and education.

The Larger Picture
Broadband is increasingly viewed as essential infrastructure, alongside water, power, and roads.
The timeline, pricing structure, and execution of Joink’s expansion will determine how impactful this shift becomes.
For now, the fiber landscape in Linton is clearly entering a new phase.
Questions That Will Shape the Outcome
As the transition unfolds, several practical questions remain:
- What is the projected timeline for full buildout across all neighborhoods?
- Will pricing remain consistent during and after expansion?
- How will installation priority be determined?
- Will there be partnerships with local institutions or businesses?
- What level of redundancy and reliability can residents expect?
As Linton learned several years ago with Endeavor, infrastructure announcements are easy. Execution is what builds trust.
