Greene County is calling on community members to assist in a vital cleanup effort to remove tornado and disaster debris from yards and farmland to the roadside right-of-way. Your help is urgently needed to restore safety, accessibility, and productivity to our homes and agricultural lands. In preparation for roadside debris picks starting June 18, 2025,
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR:
- Yard Debris Removal: Help residents clear debris from their properties and move it to the roadside.
- Farmland Cleanup: Assist in clearing fields and transporting debris to the roadside. Volunteers with ATVs/ORVs or tractors are especially needed to haul large or heavy debris to the roadside from large fields.
- Sort and/or restack roadside debris by category: 1) large appliances, 2) construction debris, 3) vegetive debris, 4) hazardous waste, and 5) electronics.
LOCATION:
- The Roy Clark Community Building in Humphrey’s Park, 1351 A St NE, Linton, IN 47441.
- All affected areas across Greene County, Indiana. Volunteers will be deployed to Linton, Switz City or Worthington unincorporated areas.
TIMELINE:
- Now through Wednesday, June 18, 2025
- Monday through Saturday 8:00AM to 6:00PM
WHAT TO BRING:
- Work gloves, boots, safety glasses, and water.
- Tools such as rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, or chainsaws (if trained).
- ATV/ORV or tractors for farmland cleanup (if available).
- If you don’t have supplies, just bring yourself and supplies will be provided.
