Now that the formal introductions are done, here’s a little portion of the backstory…

Jake Carmichael, a former miner and multi-generation local, grew up hearing stories about the resilience of miners and their struggles beneath the earth. After a tragic mining accident left him as the sole survivor of a catastrophic collapse, Jake discovered he had absorbed a mysterious power from deep within the coal veins—a strange, otherworldly energy that had lain dormant for millennia.
Now, imbued with superhuman abilities and a deep sense of responsibility to protect his town, Jake became Coalheart, the guardian of Linton and its surrounding communities.
Powers and Abilities:
Carbon Skin: Coalheart’s body can transform into an unbreakable, obsidian-like form, granting him near-invulnerability and incredible strength.
Thermal Surge: He can generate bursts of intense heat and flame, using it to burn through obstacles or deter enemies.
Carbon Manipulation: Coalheart can control and shape coal or any carbon-based material, forming weapons, shields, or tools from it.
Enhanced Resilience: Due to his connection to the coal energy, he has extraordinary stamina and can endure toxic environments, such as smoke, dust, or gas-filled areas.
Darkvision: Like a miner in the depths, he can see perfectly in complete darkness.
Personality:
Coalheart is a humble, grounded hero with a deep connection to his community. He’s a man of few words, preferring action over speeches, but his quiet determination inspires those around him. Despite his powers, he often doubts whether he’s enough to make a difference in a town facing economic struggles and changing times. His heroism stems from his love for his neighbors and the land his family has lived on for generations.

Villains and Challenges:

- The Dust Devil: A rogue mercenary who uses high-tech weaponry to create destructive whirlwinds and chaos.
