2013 Greene County Marsh Madness Festival

This weekend, March 1st and 2nd, is the fourth annual Greene County Marsh Madness Festival

According to the website, events include:

“bus tours of the Goose Pond Fish & Wildlife Area, Live and Silent Auction, Hardy Lake Bird Rehab Program with live birds of prey on display, Kids Activities, Ducks Unlimited Call Contest and Dog Demonstrations, Earthjoy Tree Climbing Adventures, Speakers, Workshops, Arts & Crafts exhibit and sales”

The Friends of Goosepond have tickets available on their website for the Friday evening Marsh Madness’s Peabody Energy Kick-off Banquet.  Ticket price includes “membership in Friends of Goose Pond and admission to Saturday’s event.”

According to Brad Feaster, Property Manager at Goose Pond, Hillenbrand and Minnehaha Fish and Wildlife Areas, “The Peabody Energy Kick-off Banquet takes place at Shakamak State Park and will feature a fully catered meal, live music by Kade Puckett, Keynote speaker Michael Sertle of Ducks Unlimited, cash bar, live & silent auction.  Saturday night’s Ducks Unlimited event is also at Shakamak State Park and features  numerous raffles, games and barbeque dinner.”
