Yesterday was the start of Linton’s annual Freedom Festival, and to kick it off several bands performed at Humphreys Park. The first act was a relatively new band called King McQueen, composed of Heather Dawn Smith with vocals, Dickie Phillips with lead guitar, Ed Sharkus with bass, and Brian Rumple on drums. When was the band started, and how did “No One Zero” begin?
Originally, we started back in 2003 as an acoustic duo with Mike Gerdts on vocals and guitar and Jimmy Soots on guitar. As we played at various parties and functions, we decided a full band had more potential. So, with the additions of Matt Holsclaw on drums and Brian Coleman on bass, we started the full-blown version of N1Z. Continue reading
